Jani Master Case: Victim's Shocking Allegation Against His Wife

It’s already known that popular dance choreographer Sheikh Jani Basha, alias Jani Master, is facing a sexual assault case by a minor, who earlier worked as his assistant. While Jani was out on bail, it looks like the case might take shocking turns as the victim alleged that she’s being subjected to some mental harassment now.

Other day, the victim once again posted on her Instagram stories that Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association (TFTDDA)’s newly elected president, Sumalatha Devi, who happens to be the wife of Jani, is leveraging her influence to discredit the victim’s claims. The victim alleged that Sumalatha is creating an unfair atmosphere around her, and the victim felt that she was not feeling safe anymore.

In fact, the victim’s allegations suggest that there is an internal conflict and perceived bias within the TFTDDA as well. However, none from the association or any other film authorities have publicly responded to this debate within the dance and film community. On the other hand, legal proceedings are going on as we speak, with earlier reports also doing the rounds that the victim has taken back her complaint.

Coming to the case, back in September 2024, a female assistant filed a case against Jani, accusing him of sexually assaulting and harassing her during work assignments over several years. The police have registered a zero FIR and later took action under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and arrested Jani before sending him to jail.
