January 12 Vidudala: Creativity Or Cringe?

The moment Anil Ravipudi revealed that the title of his next film featuring Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram, Keerthy Suresh and Kriti Shetty in the leads is none other than “January 12 Vidudala”, not all the parties have approved of it. A section of the audience has gone hammer and tongs at them for coming up with such an absurd title in the name of creating buzz on Sankranthi eve.

Apparently, many in the audience feel that Anil Ravipudi is going down the cringe route more, just for the sake of creating more commercial entertainers and spinning more money. In his previous films like Sankranthiki Vastunnam and Mana Shankara Varaprasad garu, the only connection between the title and the movie is just one dialogue, not even a scene or sequence. They feel that even now, he might have used the words ‘January 12 Vidudala’ in one line or sentence through a character, and that’s how it convinces them the title is apt.

That said, a section of the audience feels that Anil Ravipudi is creative in terms of picking up this title. When others are picking up more superficial and sub-standard titles, surely “January 12 Vidudala” is super creative like Vamsi’s “April 1st Vidudala” movie. Also a film’s worth is also promoting it big time, and when Anil is doing it properly, there’s no way we could call it cringe.
