Some stories don’t just arrive, they crash in like a wave, full of energy and mystery. That’s what Sudheer Babu’s new film Jatadhara feels like. While everyone else is running after trends, Sudheer seems to be walking calmly in the other direction. “Trends change every two years. I pick stories that don’t,” he said with a smile. His new film, directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, is all set to hit theatres on the 7th of this month, and fans are already curious.

In Jatadhara, Sudheer plays a man who searches for lost souls but trusts science more than spirits. The story mixes divine power, old folk tales, and family emotions in one pot. Sudheer says it’s inspired by those strange stories we all heard growing up, the ones about hidden treasures and ghosts guarding them. It’s got mystery, emotion, and a surprise that leads to Lord Shiva, he shared, calling it a film straight from his heart.

Talking about his journey, Sudheer got a bit nostalgic. From his first film S.M.S. to now, almost 20 movies later, he says it’s been a wild ride. He’s done Hindi films too, like Baaghi, but Telugu cinema is still home. His next movie with Rahul Ravindran is going to be a Baahubali-type project, something massive and never-seen-before.

Besides Jatadhara, Sudheer is also working on the Pullela Gopichand biopic. He says he never picks films just because they’re trending. If it doesn’t excite me, I don’t touch it, he said. With Sonakshi Sinha, Shilpa Shirodkar, and Avasarala Srinivas joining the cast, Jatadhara looks like a mix of emotion, belief, and a touch of madness, the kind that makes Sudheer stand out every single time.
