By: Shanaz B Syed | 6 April 2026 1:42 PM ISTLong back, former actor Kota Srinivasarao started to complain that with the arrival of other language actors like Prakash Raj, the opportunities for local Telugu actors had declined in Telugu movies. Owing to that, many star directors started bringing various new talented artists from Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Marathi as well, while sometimes there are Bengali actors also. So, what’s the take of former hero JD Chakrvarthy on this?
In fact, JD has stopped doing films for some time as films that have him in the lead are not even working out. He’s now doing a special role in the movie Gayapadda Simham that features Tarun Bhaskar in the leading role. While promoting this movie, JD was asked if non-state actors are ruling out the chances of local Telugu stars, and his response was amazing.
“There is nothing like Telugu actors are not getting the offers. Firstly, most directors approach Telugu actors for certain roles, and only if we reject it, then other language actors come in. Also, sometimes, when the director carves out a story, depending upon the fitness of an actor the character requires, he will go for other language actors. So that’s a creative call and there is nothing to worry about,” said JD Chakravarthy.
In a way, the actor, who also happens to be the director, has pulled the curtains down on these allegations that Telugu actors are not getting enough chances, saying that it is a creative call. Surely this opinion resonates with many filmmakers out there.
