Which way for JD Lakshminarayana?
He contested on Jana Sena ticket from Visakhapatnam and polled the maximum votes among the Jana Sena candidates despite losing

Lakshminarayana, who shot into limelight by dealing with some high-profile corruption cases, including that of current AP chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, left the police service and joined politics ahead of the 2019 elections.
He contested on Jana Sena ticket from Visakhapatnam and polled the maximum votes among the Jana Sena candidates despite losing. Since then, his journey has been bumpy and the future appears quite uncertain.
Lakshminarayana has been quite active in Vizag and by all accounts, is planning to contest from Vizag again. But, the catch is – he doesn't know which party he is going to contest from. Though Jana Sena's doors are open, he finds the BJP more close to his ideology. But the party does not seem to be growing in Andhra Pradesh.
However, on the issue of the Vizag steel plant, he differed with the BJP and had even filed a petition against the Central Government. Thus, the doors for him are shut in the BJP.
There were rumours that he would join the YSRCP and become its candidate from the Vizag constituency. However, they proved non-starters. The YSRCP has a sitting MP in place and he could be made the party candidate again. So, the doors are not exactly open for him in the YSRCP.
The TDP too has its candidates ready and he may not be welcomed into the party. Thus, he has nowhere to go despite his squeaky clean image and honest demeanor. Where will he go ahead of 2024 and which party he would contest from? Let's wait and see how he makes his moves.
