NTR–Prashanth Neel Planning Massive Two-Chapter Dragon Universe?

Some stories just refuse to fit inside one frame, they spill over, grow, and demand space. That’s pretty much what’s happening with Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s long-delayed film Dragon. Announced way back in 2020, the project had been on and off for years, but it finally kicked off this year. Now, there’s a fresh buzz that the team might split it into two big chapters. Yeah, that’s how massive the scale seems to have become.

Word is, the crew scrapped a few earlier portions and is restarting things with new ideas. The next schedule is said to begin in November. Insiders say Neel’s rewritten parts of the script to make it bigger, sharper, and more in his signature gritty style. Apparently, the story’s too loaded for a single film, too many layers, too much firepower. So, the idea of two parts is not off the table anymore.

And if anyone knows how to pull off multi-part storytelling, it’s Prashanth Neel. He did it before with KGF and later Salaar. But Dragon might take a different route. Instead of making audiences wait for years, Neel’s plan, if all goes well, is to shoot both parts in one long stretch and drop them within a short gap. It’s ambitious, sure, but this guy has a thing for thinking big and going bigger.

Of course, back-to-back releases aren’t easy. The first part needs to hit hard enough to make people come back for the second. Still, with Jr NTR in full beast mode and Rukmini Vasanth playing the female lead, expectations are already wild. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers with music by Ravi Basrur, Dragon is looking more like a full-blown universe than just another movie. Whether it’s one film or two, fans can already sense something fiery taking shape.
