Telugu cinema isn’t just crossing borders anymore, it’s dominating them. With rising demand for Tollywood content across South India, Tamil distributors are diving in early to secure rights. The latest buzz? Two major Telugu films, one starring Jr. NTR and the other led by Anushka Shetty, have locked massive deals for their Tamil versions.

Jr. NTR’s much-anticipated entry into Bollywood with War 2 is already making headlines. Starring alongside Hrithik Roshan and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is produced by Yash Raj Films and slated for release on August 14. Meanwhile, Anushka Shetty’s Ghati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by UV Creations, will arrive on July 11. Both films are expected to have strong openings across languages, but now, Tamil Nadu is getting special attention.

Think Studios, a prominent distribution house in Kollywood, has acquired the Tamil theatrical rights for both War 2 and Ghati. This move positions them to bring these big-budget pan-Indian films to Tamil-speaking audiences in a big way. With official posters already out and promotions underway, the groundwork for their Tamil releases has begun.

Rather than waiting for success to speak after release, Kollywood distributors are now betting big, and early. With powerhouse stars, large-scale production, and strong pre-release buzz, these acquisitions prove once again that Telugu stars are not just visiting Tamil markets, they’re owning space there.
