Maran who recently earned major profits from the success of Jailer has invested heavily in Coolie which stars the iconic Rajinikanth. He is also backing a massive pan-Indian project with Allu Arjun and Atlee.
At the Coolie trailer launch, Maran spoke about the changing attitudes of young, successful actors in the industry. He praised Rajinikanth's humility and dedication, contrasting it with the behavior of some younger stars. "Many of today's young successful actors are becoming increasingly difficult to approach after just a couple of hits. They often refuse to pick up calls, and some even demand private jets for shoots," Maran stated. He emphasized that, despite his immense stardom, Rajinikanth remains grounded and approachable, calling him the "real Superstar" of the country.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is set for a global release on August 14th and will be showcased across a record number of screens. The film features an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan.
