The film not only grossed more than ₹300 crores, but opened new doors to superhero movies yet again, whose narratives are rooted in Indian cinema.
Heroine Kalyani Priyadarshan finally opens on Kotha Loka, in which she played the lead role of vampire-infused super hero, Chandra. Though she did the film and had confidence in the content, she got nervous on the release day.
“I’ve locked myself in a room, fearing that movie critics might not accept her as a leading lady with superpowers. Not just me, the whole team is like that. Only after looking at all the reviews, after 3 pm, we got out and celebrated,” she revealed in a recent interview.
After doing extremely well at the box office, Kotha Lokah has made a stunning debut on Jio Hotstar too, after it made its streaming debut at the end of October. The film turned out to be No.1 for consecutive weeks on the platform.
After the release of Lokah, Kalyani Priyadarshan is yet to come up with her next, while her special Genie song, which she danced along with Jayam Ravi and Krithi Shetty, became talked about, for her explosive looks.
