What Is The Age Of 'Bhaarateeyudu' Now? Is It Relevant?

Ever since its announcement, 'Bharateeyudu 2' has been grabbing the headlines. While some were for good reasons, the others were for all the wrong reasons. The intro video which came out recently proved that Shankar still has that magic and Kamal is going to showcase his prowess once again. But there were few complaints on Kamal's makeup as well as Anirudh's music.

The first part showed Kamal Hassan as a 70-year-old man who fought for Independence. 'Bharateeyudu' came in 1996 and it means that the second part is arriving after 27 years. So, the iconic Senapathi character will be nearing the century mark now. On the logical front, it will be impossible for a nearly 100-year-old man to fight against India's corrupt system which is highly rooted. We have seen how he fought people and killed them in the first part. Can he do the same in 2023?

It would have been believable if the story was set in 2000 but the intro made it clear that it is set in the current backdrop. If the audiences go by the emotion and leave the logic behind, it may become a possibility. Also, doing such murders and escaping in the current times seems next to impossible and it looks like Shankar has a huge task in his hand to convince people. Let us wait and see what happens.

Lyca Productions banner is bankrolling this project while Kajal Agarwal is the heroine. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for this movie. Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani and others are playing key roles.
