Suriya Wraps Up Shooting for "Kanguva"

Suriya recently finished filming for "Kanguva," a movie directed by Siruthai fame director Siva, their first project together.

Suriya shared a heartfelt message on his official social media account, announcing the completion of his part in the film along with a final shot from the set. He expressed gratitude to director Siva and the team, calling the experience of working on "Kanguva" full of positivity and marking the end of one journey and the start of many new ones. He wrote, ‘“My last shot done for kanguva! An entire unit filled with positivity! It’s a finishing of one and beginning of many..! Thank you dearest @directorsiva and team for all the memories! #Kanguva is huge n special can’t wait for you all to see it on screen! #Family #Missing.”

Initially planned for a summer release, "Kanguva," touted as one of the costliest Tamil films made, faced delays due to remaining shoots and pending VFX work. Consequently, the release has been postponed to mid-2024.

The movie is expected to be visually captivating, with Suriya portraying six different characters, including a unique warrior role. The previously released glimpse of the film created significant excitement among viewers.

"Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga" is a period action-drama penned by Adi Narayana with dialogues by Madhan Karky. It is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under Studio Green and UV Creations.

The star-studded cast features Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, and KS Ravikumar. This movie also marks the Tamil debut for Patani and Deol. The film's technical team comprises Devi Sri Prasad handling music, Vetri Palanisamy as the cinematographer, and Nishadh Yusuf in charge of editing.
