Kantara Telugu Asking Rs 100 Cr: Too Greedy Or Worth It?
The latest news is that this film is now being quoted for a huge price by the makers as they are demanding rupees hundred crore for the same.
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 Aug 2025 7:48 PM ISTIt has become increasingly common for the Telugu audience to show a lot of patronage for dubbed films, and this is getting established multiple times in recent. Incidentally, there are a few films that are looking to take advantage of this situation and here is looking into the story.
The film in discussion here is Kannada film Kantara, which is being made on a huge scale. This film is preparing for its release later in this year, and the makers have opened the business prospect already.
The latest news is that this film is now being quoted for a huge price by the makers as they are demanding rupees hundred crore for the same.
The first part made around ₹30 Crore in the Telugu states, and this was a pretty big number for a film that released with literally no anticipation. This could perhaps be the reason why the makers have started to ask in the range of rupees hundred crore for the sequel.
But the point that must be noted, here is that this business is on par with any top tire Telugu superstar business in Telugu states and this is where the problem is coming. There is going to be a lot of financial exposure if anyone pays such a huge amount for this film, which is dubbed film.
But nevertheless Hombale Films are a confident production house, and they have already tested huge success in the Telugu states with films like KGF, Salaar, Kantara, Mahavatar Narasimha and others.
The chances are that this production house might stick to their quoting price in the future as well, and if that is not meant, they could go for an own release, which is something that they have done successfully in the past.
