Rishab Shetty’s film, out since October 2, has been praised for its acting, visuals, and story set in the 4th century AD. But then, during a community lunch scene in the ‘Brahmakalasha’ song, a plastic water bottle popped up, and the internet lost it. Suddenly, the tiniest thing became the hottest topic online.
People were quick with jokes. Some compared it to the Game of Thrones coffee cup. “The North remembers… the coffee cup,” one fan wrote. Another said, “GOT’s Starbucks moment in Kantara.” Memes started flying, someone even joked the Kadambas invented plastic, or that the bottle symbolized Shetty’s humble beginnings. It became this weird mix of admiration for the film and playful roasting.
Not everyone was making fun. Some viewers defended the team, saying it was an honest editing slip. A few suggested it could be fixed for the next release. The reactions showed that fans can spot errors but still love the movie, laughing along rather than tearing it down. It’s a little human flaw in a mostly perfect package.
The small goof hasn’t hurt the film’s success at all. Kantara Chapter 1 keeps smashing at the box office, crossing Rs 400 crore nett in India. Big names like Atlee, Yash, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Ram Gopal Varma have all praised it. If anything, the water bottle incident just added some fun chatter to an otherwise epic film. Shows you, even tiny mistakes can become part of the story, in a way.
