Comedian Makes Fun Of Rajamouli In Front Of Varanaasi Heroine

Popular comedian Kapil Sharma has once again stirred a controversy by poking fun at ace filmmaker, the legendary SS Rajamouli in the opening episode of The Kapil Sharma Show - Season 4.

Known for his satire on big-budget, VFX-driven cinema, Kapil brought back his spoof character “Raja Goli”, which is a caricature of Rajamouli’s style of filmmaking.

The situation became awkward when the episode featured none other than Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanaasi heroine Priyanka Chopra as the special guest. During the skit, the Raja Goli character went a step further by placing a garland made of green cauliflowers around Priyanka’s neck, joking that he would later convert it into diamonds using VFX. While this was intended as humor, the gag did not sit well with hardcore fans of Rajamouli.

Fans of the legendary director quickly took to social media, expressing their anger and disappointment over what they felt was mockery disguised as a comedy. Many argued that repeatedly ridiculing the director’s use of visual effects undermines the global recognition he has brought to Indian cinema through films like Baahubali and RRR.

The fact that the joke was performed right next to his next film’s heroine only added fuel to the criticism.
