Keerthy Suresh After Debut Flop, Bags Another Bollywood Film

Some actors shy away after a lukewarm launch. Keerthy Suresh is not one of them. After the underwhelming response to her Bollywood debut Baby John, the National Award-winning actress seems ready to bounce back with a stronger, issue-driven script.

According to early reports, Keerthy�s next Hindi film will take a hard look at India�s education system. The yet-to-be-titled film casts her opposite Rajkummar Rao, with the actor also backing the project under his own production banner. The film is being directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, known for Sector 36, and is slated to go on floors in Mumbai this June.

This time, Keerthy will take on the persona of a fearless educationist who exposes the flaws in the system, such as commercial exploitation and unethical institutional activities. This character might resonate in Bollywood for someone who made a name for herself with powerful performances in socially conscious movies like Mahanati.

Even if Baby John's box office performance may not have gone her way, Keerthy is obviously not allowing one setback to define her career in Hindi cinema. The setting is set for a far more powerful impression, since her second innings already sounds more grounded and current.
