Keerthy Suresh’s Comedy Gamble Backfires In Style
This film should also be a reality check for streaming platforms like Amazon. Casting big names isn’t enough.

From Mahanati to commercial films, she has built a reputation where audiences expect a certain standard. But Uppu Kappurambu doesn’t fit into that picture. The film starts off on an awkward note and never really finds its balance. A story involving limited graveyard space and family tradition had room for something unique, but it gets lost in forced comedy and flat scenes.
Keerthy’s role feels out of place. She tries to pull off exaggerated humor and expressive acting, but it doesn't land well. It’s not that she can’t do lighter roles, but here, the weak writing doesn’t help her performance. Suhas, who’s been picking up interesting work recently, does his best too, but even he looks stuck inside a confused script. The emotional angle is barely explored, and whatever could have been impactful fades into the background.
This film should also be a reality check for streaming platforms like Amazon. Casting big names isn’t enough. When a project carries this much potential on paper but ends up directionless, it shows a lack of creative filter. Uppu Kappurambu could have been a smart social satire or an emotional story, but ends up as neither. Hopefully, Keerthy and others involved take this as a lesson before stepping into something just for novelty.
