Like rivers that find new routes when blocked, Kerala heroines are now carving fresh paths to reach Telugu audiences. Instead of waiting for Tollywood doors to open, many are stepping into Kollywood, letting dubbed versions carry their charm across the states. This shortcut not only gives them wider exposure but also keeps them away from the struggle of bagging direct Telugu films.

Mamita Baiju is the best example of this trend. The Premalu girl doesn’t have a single Telugu project, yet she has landed big Tamil films with top stars. Jananayagan, Surya 46, Dhanush 54, and Dude, all of them are bilinguals or lined up for dubbing in Telugu. With one step into Tamil, Mamita is managing to capture two industries at once.

Anaswara Rajan too, is walking the same path. Telugu audiences remember her from Neru, Rekha, and Guruvayur Ambal Nadil. Though she hasn’t signed a straight Telugu film, she’s part of Brindavan Colony 2, the sequel to the cult 7/G Brindavan Colony, which is also releasing in Telugu. She has another Tamil project under the production of Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya, making her presence stronger.

Priya Prakash Varrier, Malavika Manoj, and Anikha Surendran are also covering both states with Tamil films. Priya’s Good Bad Ugly and Nilavukku Enamel entertained audiences on both sides.

Malavika, who failed in Telugu with O Bhama Ayyorama, is hoping to bounce back with Bro Code in Tamil. Anikha, from child star to heroine, is also using Kollywood as her bridge. Clearly, Kerala beauties are traveling a three-way road,Mollywood to Kollywood, and from there, into Tollywood hearts.
