Film To Release Tomorrow, But Court Stopped Today!

These days, it is becoming increasingly common for the courts to intervene with the release of certain films. This matter has reached upcoming film Kerala Story 2 as this film was supposed to release tomorrow but it got postponed by the Kerala High Court today.

The Kerala High Court on Thursday, February 26, stayed the release of Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond after multiple petitions were filed challenging the film’s censor certification. The petitioners argued that the movie could create social tension and questioned how it was cleared for public screening.

Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas heard the matter and issued an interim order putting the release on hold. The court also directed the Central Board of Film Certification to reconsider its decision to grant certification to the film.

The judge asked the board to review the content carefully and ensure that all legal and regulatory guidelines were properly followed before allowing the movie to be screened.

The court’s decision means the film cannot be released in theatres until further orders. The producers are expected to respond to the concerns raised in the petitions, while the certification board will now have to re examine the film as per the court’s direction.

The case is likely to be heard again after the CBFC submits its fresh review. Until then, the future of the film’s release remains uncertain.
