Making the news even more special, Akshay Kumar received his citizenship today on the big eve of Indian Independence Day. Sharing the good news on social media, he said that he is Indian by heart and citizenship. "Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!," Akshay Kumar said on X.

Talking about Akshay Kumar's Canadian Citizenship, he is said to have applied for one when he went through a lean patch in his career. Following his friend's advice, he applied for citizenship and the concerned authorities granted him the Canadian citizenship. Since then, he is often targeted for this.
