By: Tupaki Desk | 7 March 2025 12:54 PMAfter a not-so-impressive debut in The Archies on Netflix and the lukewarm response to her second film LoveYappa, Khushi Kapoor’s third outing, Nadaaniyan, hit the screens today. Starring alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan, the film opened to mostly underwhelming reviews. While some praised the fresh pairing, many felt the film lacked depth and failed to hold attention.
The story follows Pia (played by Khushi), a rich girl hiding her personal struggles behind a smile. Arjun (played by Ibrahim) is career-focused and allergic to emotional drama. A misunderstanding with her friends leads Pia to hire Arjun to act as her fake boyfriend a setup that soon brings unexpected feelings into play. Unfortunately, the plot feels all too familiar and predictable, offering nothing new for audiences to hold on to.
Critics were particularly harsh on the performances, calling the lead pair’s acting bland and lacking chemistry. While the film aims to be a breezy rom-com, the weak script and forced emotional moments left viewers feeling disconnected. With Nadaaniyan, Khushi’s wait for that one big breakthrough performance still continues.
