Vijay Deverakonda’s “Kingdom” Holds Strong Despite Tough Box Office Competition

Despite facing tough box office competition, Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film Kingdom is managing to pull in decent collections. The film’s performance has been affected by releases of other major films. Kingdom released shortly after Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which opened strongly, followed by the surprise hit Mahavatar Narasimha, which is also doing impressive numbers.

Released amidst this fierce competition, Kingdom managed to earn solid collections on Thursday and Friday, thanks to Vijay’s star power. In the US, it emerged as the biggest opener. The film grossed ₹39 crore on its opening day, which is noteworthy.

While the Kingdom team anticipated competition from Hari Hara Veera Mallu, War 2, and Coolie, the unexpected breakout success of Mahavatar Narasimha which has already collected a share of over ₹20 crore is impacting Kingdom’s box office run. The collections are being divided between the two.

Producer Naga Vamsi previously faced similar challenges with films like Dacoit Maharaj and Guntur Kaaram, yet managed to draw decent revenues. Similarly, Kingdom has proven itself as a stylish hit and has already broken even in several major territories in a very short time, which is impressive given the competition.

What stands out the most is Vijay Deverakonda’s massive popularity, which has helped the film enter profit zones even in Tamil and Malayalam markets.
