Theatre Issue: Hero And Producer At Crossroads!
But on the other hand, Telugu heroes struggle to get a reasonable number of screens in Tamil Nadu.
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Oct 2025 3:59 PM ISTFor a long time, now, the theatrical distribution for Telugu and Tamil heroes has been a topic of discussion. This is primarily due to the fact that Tamil heroes find substantial number of theatres in Telugu states even for dubbed films.
But on the other hand, Telugu heroes struggle to get a reasonable number of screens in Tamil Nadu. This crucial topic came to discussion several times in the past, and it is relevant now.
Talented young Telugu hero Kiran Abbavaram pointed out that his upcoming film K Ramp is not getting adequate screens in Tamil Nadu.
“For instance, Dude, which has Tamil Hero Pradeep Ranganathan is getting very good number of screens in the Telugu states. But on the other hand, my film K Ramp is not getting a reasonable number of theatres in Tamil Nadu. This disparity needs to be addressed, and we must also get adequate share.” Kiran said.
Speaking on this matter, Mythri producer Ravi Shankar pointed out that it is the content that decides the theatre allocation.
“If a film is good and recon is strong, then it will automatically find its value in the theatres and the number of screens will also be added from the second day. And at the same time, if the contact is bad, then the film will be replaced by some other well performing film.”
This brings us back to the original point made by Kiran saying that any good film can find it audience only when it gets a good release, and that is the whole point.
It appears that the hero and producer are at crossroads on this topic of theatrical allocation. Both of them have crucial points to make and they’re expressing the same now.
