By: Shanaz B Syed | 6 March 2026 4:03 PM ISTRecently, at an award function, Bollywood's beautiful star heroine Kriti Sanon bagged the Best actress trophy for the film, Tere Ishq Mein. However, those who have watched the film Haq on Netflix obviously feel that Yami Gautam is the prime contender for the role, and Kriti is no match for her. Regarding the same, someone made a reel on Instagram highlighting how Bollywood sidelines true talents. But that's not the story here.
The reel where Kriti Sanon got bashed has gotten a like from Yami on Instagram, and everyone was surprised to see that. With media folks picking up the story that Yami Gautam is also quite upset with the awards committee and liked the reel as well, it went viral. Talking about the same, Yami Gautam stated that she had accidentally liked the reel, but was not consciously aware of it, clarifying her stand on liking the reel accidentally. The ‘Article 370’ actress also stated that she doesn't have a PR team and wouldn't indulge in any tactics to get some cheap publicity.
Back then years ago, Yami Gautam already clarified that Bollywood awards are biased and hand-managed, and that is why she wouldn't worry about it any time. The actress has once again clarified that she doesn't have a PR team and she prefers her work to speak for itself.
Yami Gautam’s statement on the issue read as follows: “It has come to my notice that I apparently ‘liked’ a reel that is condescending toward another actor. We get tagged in multiple things every day, and this appeared during an award-function reference like any other tag. It isn’t true and was definitely not done consciously; if anything, it may have been clicked accidentally. Never in my life have I resorted to cheap PR tactics. I have always focused on my work and moved on. In the world of clickbait, it’s tempting for even dignified social media portals to harp on this and turn it into coffee-table gossip. But I would hope they would consider that I have earned a better reputation than that”
