Kriti Sanon Reveals Struggles Outsiders Face Bollywood
For her, the waiting years were not wasted years. Kriti calls them a training ground, a time to polish skills, understand the industry, and prepare for the right role.
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Aug 2025 12:28 PM ISTKriti Sanon has never hidden her story. From an engineering student to a model and then stepping into films with Heropanti in 2014, she has built her place one film at a time. Her turning point came with Mimi in 2021, which fetched her the National Award for Best Actress, shared with Alia Bhatt. But behind the glitter, Kriti speaks about the silent battles outsiders fight in Bollywood, battles where patience and self-belief matter more than contacts.
She admits there were many who told her she did not fit, too tall, too thin, not the “ideal” face. And yet, instead of bending to opinions, she decided to stay consistent. “There are no shortcuts, no free lunches,” she says firmly. For Kriti, passion and persistence are the only tickets to survival. Outsiders often hear what is wrong with them, but they rarely hear they can succeed. That, she feels, is the toughest part.
For her, the waiting years were not wasted years. Kriti calls them a training ground, a time to polish skills, understand the industry, and prepare for the right role. According to her, the journey is never about speed but about growth. She reminds dreamers not to lose heart when doors don’t open immediately, because sometimes delay is what makes the success more meaningful.
Today, Kriti balances acting and producing. In 2024 she appeared in Do Patti, Crew, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Ahead, she pairs with Dhanush in Tere Ishk Mein this November and leads Cocktail 2 in 2026. Her rise is not just a star story, but also a handbook of resilience for every outsider who dares to dream.
