Just when the buzz around Kuberaa was heating up, a curveball emerged and this one hits the producer’s pocket. Sunil Narang, the man backing this high-profile multilingual film, finds himself in a bind over a delay that could cost him a cool Rs 10 crore.

With Kuberaa bringing together stars like Dhanush, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna under Sekhar Kammula’s direction, expectations are sky-high. The film is set to release in five major languages and has already created enough noise, especially with its OTT rights reportedly sold to Prime Video for a hefty amount. The original deal required the film to hit theatres by June 20, 2025. However, with post-production work falling behind schedule, the team reached out to Prime Video, hoping to delay the release and adjust the streaming date. But the platform wasn’t having it. As per Sunil Narang’s own admission in a recent interview, the streaming giant threatened to deduct Rs 10 crore from the deal if the release was postponed even slightly.
