Kubera: Sekhar Kammula to try out this utterly new concept

Sekhar Kammula, popular for his captivating portrayal of women in movies, is stepping into uncharted territory with his upcoming film, Kubera. Despite his previous ventures like Leader and Anamika in different genres, his forte has always been love stories and female-centric films. The first look of Kubera has left the audience bewildered, witnessing Sekhar Kammula's departure from his usual style.

The recently released poster features Dhanush in a strikingly poor and rugged appearance, sparking curiosity about the film's plot. Adding to the intrigue, a depiction of Shiva Parvati in the poster has fueled speculations about the storyline. Referring to ancient Puranas, Shekhar Kammula weaves a narrative where Guna Nidhi's devotion to Shiva leads to his transformation into Kubera in the next birth, born in the Krutha Yugam. Kubera, now portrayed by Dhanush, emerges as a beggar rising to become a mafia figure in 90s Mumbai. The film is rumored to include Nagarjuna as an enforcement officer chasing Kubera.

The director is said to have skillfully combined these two diverse backgrounds to illustrate the journey of a beggar attaining mafia status. The unexpected appearance of Dhanush in a destitute guise is integral to this intriguing storyline.
