KVN Productions & Megastar Chiru: What’s Update?
Producer K. Venkata Narayana entered cinema with scale. He gave Big advances to Big stars and made Bigger bets.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 22 April 2026 1:22 PM ISTThe production house “KVN Productions” that rose to fame after announcements of projects like Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Yash’s Toxic, was supposed to be the producer of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next film, which will be directed by KS Bobby of Waltair Verayya fame. While the banner is under pressure due to various issues, they are still not backing off from this project. Here’s what insiders say.
Producer K. Venkata Narayana entered cinema with scale. He gave Big advances to Big stars and made Bigger bets. When Vijay’s film ran into trouble, KVN stepped in, paid the quoted amount, and pushed it to completion. However, the very same Jana Nayagan is now stuck with release hurdles after a spend close to ₹500 crore. At the same time, Toxic with Yash saw delays and budget escalation. One and a half years have gone on the film, interests piled up on the investment, and the film is yet to hit cinemas. Amidst these happenings, many, including Chiranjeevi, felt that KVN would not be able to pull off the Chiru-Bobby movie.
In fact, Chiranjeevi himself reportedly advised KVN Productions to slow down by clearing existing issues first. He’s said to have asked them to wait, such that another producer will bankroll Bobby’s movie, and later can join hands with Megastar. However, KVN Productions doesn’t want to step back or wait-and-watch. They are said to have clarified that they will pull off this mega spectacle.
Because landing a Megastar film at this stage is not just another project, but it gives their banner a positioning and it will add long-term value. Walking away now means losing that space to someone else, and other star heroes might not trust the banner later. We have to see what happens.
