By: Shanaz B Syed | 3 Sept 2025 7:00 PM ISTFaith often draws people in with devotion, but sometimes, devotion drowns in disorder. That’s what happened at Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja, where a visit meant to bring peace turned into chaos for actresses Pragya Jaiswal and Priyanka Choudhary. A viral video shows the two stars caught in a crowd crush, stripped of any special treatment, jostling their way like ordinary devotees. What was supposed to be darshan soon looked like survival.
The iconic pandal is no stranger to massive gatherings, thousands pour in daily with folded hands and hopeful hearts. But the overwhelming crowd has its dark side. In the same video, Pragya and Priyanka can be seen struggling to move forward, surrounded tightly on all sides. Eyewitnesses said the atmosphere was suffocating, with little regard for safety. Shockingly, this isn’t just about celebrities. Regular devotees also shared their stories online: a girl left with a head injury, a torn dress of a mother, and an elderly man gasping for breath in the rush.
What adds weight to the debate is the double standard in treatment. While some stars reportedly get red-carpet-like entry, others, like Pragya and Priyanka, were left exposed in the crowd’s frenzy. Social media users quickly pointed out that Jacqueline Fernandez and Avneet Kaur had also faced similar troubles at the same venue in previous years. Clearly, the issue isn’t new.
Festivals are meant to unite, not humiliate. If crowd management at one of India’s biggest pandals continues to fail, even the sanctity of darshan risks being overshadowed by chaos. For now, the images of Pragya and Priyanka trapped in the swarm stand as a reminder: faith may be personal, but safety must be collective.
