'Leo' misses golden opportunity; deets inside

Since the trailer release, Leo has generated both positive anticipation and negative feedback. The premiere of Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay, was expected to break records in the United States with advance ticket sales exceeding $900,000, a first in Vijay's career.

However, due to the Tamil Nadu government's restriction on early morning shows for the film, the producers decided not to hold early premieres in the United States, leading to canceled shows and a reduced total of $700,000 in sales. An excellent opportunity to reach $1 million from the premiere shows was missed.

In the meantime, approximately 64,229 tickets for 446 Tamil shows directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj were sold on Friday, with Chennai accounting for 70% of advance bookings and Madurai for 34%. With the tremendous hype and fan following, Leo is expected to become the biggest Kollywood blockbuster of 2023.

Leo features Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, Sandy, and Mansoor Ali Khan, with Anurag Kashyap making a cameo appearance. Actor Kamal Haasan is also rumored to appear in the movie as an alter ego of his character 'Vikram.' The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
