Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's action drama 'Leo' completed two weeks of its theatrical run. The collections have slowed down in all regions including Tamil Nadu but the producers are claiming that the film already crossed the 600 crore mark. Keeping the collections aside, what Lokesh spoke in front of the media recently paved the way for a lot of theories and assumptions regarding the continuation of 'Leo'.
This is leading to a huge discussion on social media and even the technicians and actors in the film are confusing the movie lovers with their statements. With all the fuss going on, people need to remember that 'Leo' is heavily inspired by 'A History Of Violence' which came out in 2005. While one appreciates Lokesh's stylish making, he did not show anything in terms of story or screenplay or twists.
This is the same story that has been used by many stars for decades. Movies like 'Basha', 'Indra' and Vijay's own 'Theri' are huge examples of it. But Lokesh and the team are trying to generate hype by talking about the flashback narrated by Mansoor Ali Khan and the arrival of the prostitute from 'Vikram' to Leo's café. While it can be understood that there trying to establish the connection of 'Leo' to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, many feel that they are overdoing it.
Lokesh has given a lot of interviews over the past few days. While he admitted that there was lag in the second half, he is overly elevating Leo's character and this is generating mixed responses. It looks like the team is going to drag this strategy till 'Leo' releases on OTT platforms. Trisha is the female lead in this flick while Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja played negative roles. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer for this massive project. Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Madonna Sebastian, Iyal, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and others played significant roles.
