Director Lokesh Kanagaraj Turns Actor, Debut Confirmed

In Tamil cinema, directors wearing the actor’s hat is no longer a rare twist. After Pradeep Ranganathan scored big with Love Today, now it’s Lokesh Kanagaraj’s turn to step in front of the camera. The man behind gritty blockbusters like Khaidi, Master, and Vikram seems ready to explore a new cinematic space—not as a storyteller, but as the story itself.

According to buzz from Kollywood circles, Lokesh will make his acting debut in a film directed by Captain Miller filmmaker Arun Matheswaran. With story discussions reportedly locked and a leading production house backing the project, this collaboration is already generating major curiosity. An official announcement is expected shortly, and if all goes as planned, this will mark a major shift in Lokesh’s career just as his directorial biggie Coolie starring Rajinikanth gears up for its August 14 release.
