For a while now, fans have been curious about director Lokesh Kanagaraj stepping in front of the camera. The man who gave hits like Vikram and Master and recently Superstar Rajinikanth starring Coolie surprised everyone when he acted with Shruti Haasan in Inimel, a romantic song that grabbed over 15 million views on YouTube. That small glimpse was enough to spark excitement, and now his full-fledged acting debut seems to be finally happening.

The latest word around is that Bollywood beauty Wamiqa Gabbi has been roped in as the female lead. Director Arun Matheswaran, known for his bold stories, reportedly looked at quite a few actresses before locking Wamiqa for this high-intensity action drama. The shoot already started last week, and though the makers are keeping things quiet, the pairing itself is enough to make fans sit up.

Wamiqa, who first did Bhale Manchi Roju with Sudheer Babu, has been steadily growing across industries. She’s also part of G2, the spy sequel to Goodachari with Adivi Sesh.
