Buzz: Lokesh Avoiding Tollywood For This?

This week, on August 7th, talented Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj, whose films like Khaidi, Vikram and Leo are superhits in Telugu as well, is coming to theatres as an actor. With the movie “DC”, he’s debuting as a hero, while Wamiqa Gabbi is the heroine. However, though the makers of the film are promoting the Tamil version big time, they are not even pushing the Telugu version, though it’s releasing on the same day.

Many are wondering why Lokesh Kanagaraj is wasting this golden opportunity of promoting himself and his film at the Telugu box office. With Wamiqa also gaining some popularity earlier with Sudheer Babu’s Bhale Manchi Roju movie, and then featuring in the upcoming Goodachari 2 as well, “DC” would get attention if they promote. However, these Tamil makers are thinking in the same way of their predecessors when it comes to capturing the Telugu market.

Well, many Tamil films usually get attendance from the Telugu audience, and then if the talk turns out to be good, they work. Earlier films like Ghajini, Love Today or Bichhagadu were not promoted in a big way during their release times, but their word of mouth made them a super hit. So it looks like Lokesh wants the content to speak for him rather than him speaking at the events now. Otherwise what would be the reason for avoiding Telugu promotions?
