Lokesh Kanagaraj Prepares for His Hero Debut with Martial Arts Training

Renowned filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to make his debut as a lead actor in a new action movie. Lokesh is currently training hard in martial arts in Thailand to prepare for his role. This marks a big step in his career as he moves from directing films to acting in them.

While training in Thailand, Lokesh Kanagaraj is also busy with the post-production work for his much-awaited film Coolie. This superstar movie, featuring Rajinikanth, is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025. Coolie brings back the team of Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj after nearly 38 years. The film also includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir and Upendra in important roles.

Additionally, there is a special appearance by Bollywood actor Aamir Khan in Coolie. The movie is set to be a grand cinematic experience with high-energy action, strong emotions and a powerful story about gold smuggling. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film’s music, Girish Gangadharan is handling the camera and Philomin Raj is the editor.

While there were rumors that Coolie might be a part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe, the team made it clear that Coolie is a completely separate story. This big-budget film stands on its own with its unique style and delivery.

After finishing Coolie, Lokesh Kanagaraj plans to team up with Karthi for Kaithi 2. Later, there are reports that he may collaborate with superstar Aamir Khan for a pan-Indian superhero project which is expected to make his presence even greater in the film industry.
