Rajinikanth & Kamal Haasan Brings Losses To Lyca

Lyca Productions, one of Tamil cinema's most prestigious production banners, has faced significant financial setbacks despite producing numerous big-budget films. Now, the industry talk is that Lyca is suffering big losses for producing films with stars like Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagn Kamal Haasan. It has now become a problem for the trade to even decode the fate of the prestigious production house.

The most recent blow for Lyca Productions came from Vettaiyan, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and directed by TJ Gnanavel. This film was intended to recover the losses from Rajinikanth's previous films with Lyca Productions, such as Darbar and 2.0, but it contributed to the company's financial strain instead.

Earlier, Lal Salaam, produced by Lyca and directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya, also failed to perform well at the box office. Rajinikanth was ready to do Vettaiyan with less remuneration, but it has not worked yet. To keep the promise, he did Vettaiyan, but it did not help. The latest film resulted in more losses to the film.

Lyca Productions also suffered with Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, a costly venture that performed poorly at the box office. The failure of Indian 2 has cast doubt over the possibility of a sequel, Indian 3, which many in the trade see as another potential loss-making project.

Directed by Shankar, Indian franchise has been in the news and shoot for a long time. But, the film incurred many losses, leaving Lyca in a miserable situation.
