Prashanth Neel's Lineup: Is Mahesh’s Film Possible?

One of the biggest news stories that’s trending in the last couple of days is that Superstar Mahesh Babu is trying to join hands with hotshot director Prashanth Neel very soon. They say that after Mahesh wraps SS Rajamouli’s movie Varanasi, and Neel finishes his “Dragon” with Jr NTR, this combination might take place. However, looking at the already locked schedule of Neel, this combination just hangs on the clouds. Have a look at it.

Currently, Neel is doing a movie with Jr NTR and in fact, the film’s release date is almost mid-2027. Without any postponement, if the Mythri Movie Makers and Jr NTR allow Prashant Neel to pull off this film as planned, everything goes well. Otherwise, if this movie gets delayed, then Dragon 2 will also get delayed, literally taking away both 2027 and 2028 from the KGF director. After that, already Hombale Films confirmed that they are planning for Salaar 2, and recently they announced that scripting and other works of the film have also started. That will start as per Prabhas’ dates availability. If Neel could wrap that film in literally a year, then by the end of 2029, he will be free.

However, after that, he has already committed to the same Hombale Films and even hero Yash confirmed that they are discussing KGF 3. That means, literally, it takes till 2031, a good 5-years, for Yash to finish all these movies and get ready to direct Mahesh Babu. Or a couple of years might get extended too if there are unprecedented production delays, wars, or something else. The only possibility for the Mahesh-Neel combo to come up early is if Prabhas delays Salaar 2 and Neel gets a year of free time to work on another film.

If we look into the recent past, Mythri Movie Makers have first met Neel to discuss the possibility of a Mahesh-Neel collaboration only. However, with both the celebs busy in their own way, that never materialised.
