Rajamouli are gearing up for their next big outing, SSMB29, a forest action adventure that has fans across the country excited. The makers are spending lavishly on elaborate sets to match the global scale of the film. But recently, an unexpected incident made headlines. A specially built set in Ramoji Film City, designed for a key pond-side sequence, had to be abandoned within half an hour of Mahesh’s arrival.
According to sources, Mahesh couldn’t bear the heat on set and left, saying, “It’s not my fault, sorry.” The result: a set costing nearly ₹2 crore went to waste, and the shooting schedule came to an abrupt halt. The crew and designers had prepared everything meticulously, but sometimes even superstar comfort comes first in big productions.
This isn’t the first time Mahesh has caused such a stir. During the shooting of Brahmotsavam with director Srikanth Addala, a song sequence had to be moved indoors because Mahesh couldn’t perform under the sun. Back then, it became the talk of the industry, and now a similar story has emerged for SSMB29. Fans and film circles are buzzing about the huge financial loss and Mahesh’s demand for ideal shooting conditions.
For Rajamouli and the production team, it’s now about balancing grandeur with the star’s comfort. While the incident may raise eyebrows, it also shows the challenges of managing mega-scale films. Even with modern technology and global-level sets, superstar films depend heavily on the actor’s presence and mood. The industry waits eagerly to see how SSMB29 will overcome these hurdles and deliver the spectacle fans are expecting.
