According to her, audiences remember films because of their strong content, not because they are promoted as Pan-India releases. She feels that if a movie connects with people, it will naturally become popular across different languages and regions.
The actress also spoke about the lack of women writers and directors in the Indian film industry. She said there are still very few women working behind the camera, and this is one of the reasons why actresses do not get many powerful and unique roles. Malavika believes that more women should enter filmmaking because they can bring fresh ideas and different perspectives to the screen.

Malavika hopes Indian cinema will one day make a stylish female action movie similar in spirit to Hollywood's famous film Kill Bill.
