By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Aug 2025 7:00 PM ISTIt is known that Ram Charan and Director Bujji Babu are currently collaborating for Peddi. This happens to be one of the most anticipated films in the Telugu cinema space while it is also being promoted as a pan Indian film with massive making values.
However, the latest news about this project is that a Malayali actress has claimed that she got the opportunity to play a crucial role in the film, but she turned down the same.
Malayalam actress Swasika recently revealed that she was offered an important role in Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi. The makers wanted her to play the role of Ram Charan’s mother. However, Swasika politely rejected the offer, even though the team approached her several times.
Explaining her decision, the actress said that she is just 33 years old, while Ram Charan is 40. Playing his mother at this stage of her career did not feel right to her. She also mentioned that she has been receiving many mother roles recently, but she does not want to get typecast into such characters so early. Swasika added that she wants to focus on versatile and strong roles instead of settling into stereotypical ones.
In an interview, she shared, “I don’t feel the need to play Ram Charan’s mother right now. Maybe in the future, if the time is right, I can consider such roles.” Her decision shows how carefully she is shaping her career, choosing roles that highlight her talent without limiting her opportunities.
But it really needs to be said that missing this Ram Charan film is going to be a pretty big deal breaker for her.
