Is Mamitha Baiju Occupying Rashmika Mandanna’s Place?

Mamitha Baiju is slowly becoming one of the most talked-about young actresses in South Indian cinema. After the huge success of Premalu, her career has moved forward very quickly. Now, with several big projects and successful films, many movie lovers are asking an interesting question: Is Mamitha Baiju becoming the next Rashmika Mandanna?

Rashmika also enjoyed a remarkable phase in her career when she appeared in several big-ticket films with popular stars. Animal, Pushpa 2 and Kuberaa helped keep her name strongly connected with major commercial cinema. However, the often-repeated claim that these films alone gave her ₹3,000 crore in one year should be treated as an approximate industry figure rather than an exact total.

Mamitha is now enjoying a similar kind of attention. She has worked with some of the biggest names in South cinema. Her recent hits includes Kara with Dhanush, Jana Nayagan with Vijay, Vishwanath & Sons with Suriya and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit with Nivin Pauly.

Her recent box-office run has attracted even more attention. Reports say that Jana Nayagan, Vishwanath & Sons and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit have each crossed the ₹200 crore mark, giving Mamitha a rare three-film ₹200-crore run in the same year.

This does not mean Mamitha has replaced Rashmika. Rashmika has already established herself as one of the leading actresses in Indian cinema. But Mamitha is certainly creating her own space and getting opportunities with major stars.

The comparison is interesting because both actresses became popular with memorable performances and then moved into bigger commercial films.

Mamitha may not be “occupying Rashmika’s place” yet, but she is clearly following a similar path. If her success continues, she could soon become one of the most sought-after young actresses in South Indian cinema.
