Mammootty Reveals His Views On Reviews!

It is without a doubt that reviews have an impact on the collections and the overall result to an extent. But one has to understand that a bad review is a byproduct of a bad film as one cannot stop a good film no matter how the review is. A positive review for a bad film cannot save it and vice versa. But a lot of filmmakers regularly complain about the negative reviews.

While this discussion has been going on in the Telugu film industry for quite a while, this recently became a hot topic in Malayalam. The trend of directors resorting to legal action against negative reviews began and it turned worse in no time. The makers of Tamannaah's recent Malayalam film blamed the bad reviews for their low collections and filed a case. This became a huge sensation and a set of people came together to appeal that reviews should be banned.

While this discussion is going on, legendary hero Mammootty's recent outing 'Kannur Squad' benefitted from positive reviews a lot. During the promotions of his upcoming film 'Kaathal – The Core', the star actor revealed his opinion on reviews. He said, "A film's success is not based on reviews and the best is to allow the reviews and the cinema to go their own way. The filmgoers watch a film of their choice without being influenced." He claimed that film 'review' is quite different from 'roasting'. But he said that there needs to be constructive criticism which is winning the appreciation of everyone.
