The upcoming pan-Indian film David Reddy is slowly becoming one of the most talked-about projects in South Indian cinema. The film has already created strong buzz even before shooting begins mainly because of its exciting casting updates.

According to industry sources, two major stars from Telugu and Tamil cinema have been approached for special cameo roles in this historical action drama. Ram Charan has been requested to appear as a freedom fighter in the film. However, his decision is still pending. On the other hand, Tamil star Silambarasan TR (STR or Simbu) has reportedly given his approval to be part of the project. If this combination happens, it will be a big attraction for audiences across India.

David Reddy marks a strong comeback for actor Manchu Manoj who is known for choosing bold and different scripts. After staying away from films for some time, Manoj was recently seen in Mirai in negative role and now is returning with a role that is very intense and challenging. In this movie, he plays a fearless rebel who stands up against caste injustice and later takes on the British rulers. This role is said to be completely new for him and shows him in a never-seen-before avatar.

The film is set between 1897 and 1922, a period filled with struggle, rebellion, and sacrifice. It focuses on emotions, resistance, and the fight for dignity during British rule. The movie is directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti and produced by Motukuri Bharath and Nallagangula Venkat Reddy under the banner Velvet Soul Motion Pictures. Music for the film will be composed by Ravi Basrur, who is known for his powerful background scores.

Interestingly, the project was announced exactly 21 years after Manchu Manoj’s debut film Donga Dongadi making this comeback even more special. The title poster has already impressed many people. The design cleverly shapes the title into Manoj’s face, highlighting the revolutionary spirit of the character. The tagline reads: “Born in the Madras Presidency, raised in Delhi. Now, shaking the British Empire.”
