20 crore budget for Kannappa VFX? Vishnu taking big step?
He revealed that the team had hired an inexperienced VFX supervisor, which caused big delays and nearly a year’s setback in production.
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Jun 2025 9:08 PM ISTIt is already known that Manchu Vishnu is greatly anticipating the arrival of upcoming film Kannappa, which happens to be one of the costliest films in his career. While he is actively promoting the film before its release on June 27, an interesting report is going viral.
Actor and producer Manchu Vishnu recently spoke about the problems faced during the making of his upcoming mythological film Kannappa, especially with its visual effects (VFX).
He revealed that the team had hired an inexperienced VFX supervisor, which caused big delays and nearly a year’s setback in production. This mistake also led to financial losses of around ₹15 to ₹20 crore.
To fix the issue, Vishnu brought in eight top VFX companies from Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and even from abroad to improve the film’s visuals. He is now planning to start a special three-year CGI degree course at Mohan Babu University. His goal is to train skilled VFX artists in India so such problems don’t happen again in future films.
Despite all the challenges, including the theft of a hard drive with important film footage, Vishnu is confident that Kannappa will release as planned on June 27, 2025. He added that those trying to harm the film will not succeed. The movie features stars like Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharath.
