The drive, containing 70 minutes of VFX work, was being sent from a DI company in Mumbai to Hyderabad after the first transfer didn’t go as planned.
Vishnu explained that the package ended up at his father’s Film Nagar home the official GST address because of a family mix-up, instead of the production office. He suspects two people, Raghu and Charita, possibly connected to his brother Manoj’s household, might have taken the drive.
At first, Vishnu hoped the issue would resolve quietly through friends and didn’t rush to involve the police. But after a social media post on May 18 hinted at a leak and pointed fingers at Manoj, he had no choice but to act. He emphasized that what leaked is only parts of the VFX, not the full scenes.
Vishnu urged fans to avoid sharing or supporting leaked clips and instead wait to watch Kannappa in theaters on June 27. He also made it clear that the film’s portrayal of Kannappa’s devotion to Shiva is backed by history, not just creative license.
