The much-anticipated recent release, Mangalavaaram, faced a disappointing start at the box office during its first three days. Despite the typical expectation of strong performance on its first Sunday, the film encountered a severe lack of interest from moviegoers due to the concurrent World Cup final.

Initially, Mangalavaaram amassed a share of 2.2Cr on its opening day, retaining about 80% of that on the second day. However, the film witnessed a significant drop in collections on day 3, plummeting to less than 50% of the second day's earnings.

This sharp decline, especially with collections under 1Cr share in the Telugu states, paints an alarming picture for the film's makers. The total worldwide share for the first weekend stood at around 5Cr, significantly below the 13Cr value of theatrical rights.

Had it not been for the World Cup final, the movie might have gathered around 3Cr shares. The current scenario leaves the buyers in a risky position due to the film's underperformance.

The critical factor now hinges on how Mangalavaaram fares today. Should the film fail to maintain its box office momentum, it could lead to substantial losses for the buyers, amplifying the already precarious situation they find themselves in. The film's fate remains uncertain, pending its performance in the coming day
