Singer Mangli and Director Venu Udugula Booked
This is not the first time Mangli got involved in controversies, because earlier she was booked for hosting a liquor party without obtaining proper licences.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 11 April 2026 5:03 PM ISTPopular folk and cinema singer Mangli, whose real name is Satyavathi, is now alleged to have cheated an advocate to the tune of ₹10 crores in a major investment scam. Along with Mangli, her brother Shiva, and director Venu Udugula, the Punjagutta police have now received a complaint from advocate Subbarao that they have defrauded the complainant in the guise of investments and business ventures.
The primary allegation is that Singer Mangli has collected over ₹10 crores from around 100 innocent victims in the name of setting up investments, but the investors never received their money back. When advocate Subbarao started representing the investors, he was said to have been threatened by the singer, as he stated that, “Mangli warned me that my dead body would be found in days if I continue to pursue the case”. As the advocate is known for standing by such innocents, he continued pursuing the case, and the Panjagutta police now registered cases against Mangli (Accused No. 5), her brother Shiva, director Venu Udugula, and three others under Sections 351(2) and 352 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).
This is not the first time Mangli got involved in controversies, because earlier she was booked for hosting a liquor party without obtaining proper licences. But this current allegation is huge as cheating someone to the tune of ₹10 crores is a big financial fraud, and Mangli is yet to respond to this.
