OTT Platforms Running Behind Blockbuster Malayalam Flick!

When small films are in the production stage, the OTT platforms show zero interest in buying them, unlike star hero flicks. They start discussing with the producers of small films after the movie hits the screens. This gives them a chance to offer low money if the money doesn't do well. Most of the time, their assessment turns out to be true. But 'Manjummel Boys' proved them wrong.

When this movie was under making, the producers tried to make deals with OTT platforms in order to get more funding for their movie. But the title and cast did not attract the OTT officials which is why they did not offer a good rate for the film. But no other option left, the makers completed the film somehow and released it.

Now, 'Manjummel Boys' has grossed 100 crores within two weeks. It is still going quite strong and is releasing in other languages too. Realising their mistake the OTT platforms have reportedly approached the producer. They are ready to offer him 10 times more than what he asked before. If he agrees to streaming within a few weeks, the rate would increase further. The producer is considering all the options and sources say that he will give his final answer in the next few days. Reports suggest that he is looking for a good rate from an OTT platform that allows the movie to run for 50 days in theatres at least.

Coming to the Telugu dubbed version, it will be released on 15th March. The original producers are releasing it in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with the help of Mythri distribution company as per reports. Though a lot of producers are fighting for its rights, the makers did not give confirmation to anyone. They are hoping that 'Manjummel Boys' get a good response in the Telugu states as well. They are reportedly naming the movie 'The Boys' in Telugu. Anyway, one cannot guess what a small film can achieve even before it is released!
