Huge Embarassment for Martin At Box Office
Although Martin grossed ₹23 crore worldwide in its first week, the film failed to secure any share from major markets like Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Oct 2024 8:30 AM GMTDhruva Sarja's Kannada action thriller Martin has been a topic of discussion since its release on October 11. Despite a high budget of ₹100 crore, being shot over four years, and dubbed in 13 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, the film has faced significant box office challenges.
Although Martin grossed ₹23 crore worldwide in its first week, the film failed to secure any share from major markets like Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. After a promising first weekend, the movie saw a sharp decline in collections during the weekdays, and by the second Saturday, it recorded its lowest earnings.
Despite being released in various languages, such as Bengali, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish, the film struggled to gain momentum due to stiff competition from other major releases like Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video starring Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri.
Martin's plot revolves around a man on a journey of self-discovery, where he fights for his country and finds love. Alongside Dhruva Sarja, the film features a diverse cast, including Anveshi Jain, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Nathan Jones, Giorgia Andriani, and Achintya Shah in pivotal roles.
