'Martin Luther King' Director Gets Into An Argument With Netizens!

Sampoornesh Babu arrived last weekend with an interesting movie titled 'Martin Luther King' which generated a lot of buzz prior to the release but ended up being labeled as a decent concept with poor execution. Venkatesh Maha who made the changes in the script in order to suit the Telugu nativity and penned the dialogues has also played an important role along with senior actor Naresh. With the response not that encouraging, the film's director Puja Kolluru is trying to generate hype on social media.

She tweeted, "Dearest Leaders of Telugu People @ysjagan @KTRBRS @TSwithKCR @PawanKalyan @naralokesh. I am an IAS aspirant turned filmmaker. With utmost respect to the power of ballot and to remind the value of vote to every citizen, I made a Telugu film called 'Martin Luther King'. This is not a political cinema but a People's cinema. You all are some of the greatest leaders I look up to. I know you are all busy with taking care of all of us. But, I really think this is a film every politician and every citizen should watch alike. I request you to support this film and its spirit of democracy and encourage the voters of coming election to watch. I would request you to watch this movie, and share your review if I had done justice in educating our fellow voters."

Netizens were not that impressed by the director as she did not give credit to Madonne Ashwin who made the original film in Tamil. They even accused her of making it look like her own movie through all these tweets. Puja noticed them and replied, "In a world where we have multiple remakes, adaptations and redos of Batmans, and Spidermans, why is it wrong if remade a story of a Common Man? #MartinLutherKing was shown to 1200 people in Vizag, Vijayawada, Nellore, Kurnool and Warangal Premieres. Not even a handful of people knew that it was a remake. If you watched the film you would know that due credit was given to @madonneashwin garu. I have nothing but respect to him for the original story. If you have seen the news in past 3 weeks, you would see that the makers of #Mandela proudly remade this movie to reach a wider audience with the theme this movie has, and I am proud to remake this movie adding my voice and many more new voices to it. I rather have better conversations here regarding multiple important things discussed in the movie."

She even tagged all the top stars of Tollywood and wrote, "I would love to show you the film and get your review. I understand you are all very busy, but I strongly believe the heart of this film - 'Voter being King' would be beneficial for all of us fans. Would you like to watch the film?" The netizens are expressing their unhappiness over this too and we need to wait and see where this tussle between the people and Puja Kolluru goes on social media.
