The director recently opened up about the project’s making and addressed the curiosity surrounding a possible sequel. While the film promises Prabhas in a never-seen-before avatar, Maruthi insists that the experience was as exciting as it was challenging.
Sharing his thoughts, Maruthi said Prabhas had long wanted to bring his comic timing to a pan-India audience. "We didn’t hold back. Big sets, a strong visual canvas, and a genre twist—it had to live up to Prabhas' stature,” he explained. According to producer Vishwaprasad, the film took over two years to shoot, including a 40-minute VFX-heavy climax that required 300 days of dedicated post-production.
On the music front, the director confirmed there will be a catchy entry song and another dance number featuring all three heroines opposite Prabhas. Composer Thaman is crafting the soundtrack, which Maruthi promises will be vibrant and crowd-pleasing. The film’s runtime? A solid three hours, something the team embraced rather than trimmed. "We worked 18-hour days to get the output we dreamed of," Maruthi said with pride.
As for a sequel, Maruthi kept it grounded. “If the story demands it, we'll explore Raja Saab 2. But no forced extension,” he clarified. Instead of fan-service, the director prefers clarity and closure. With just glimpses of Sanjay Dutt in the teaser creating buzz, and Prabhas playing to his strengths, The Raja Saab might just be setting up something bigger—if the audience calls for it.
